Oh, you didn't think I was going to post a picture of myself wearing this, did you? A girl's got to have some dignity online.

Recipe for Beauty
I feel like I would be remiss if I kept this easy face mask to myself. When JP goes out of town, I generally have at least one spa night, including a foot soak, hot lemon water, and this two-ingredient face treatment. Originally, this came to my attention thanks to Pinterest, and I can honestly report that my skin always feels smoother and looks brighter after using it! I try to do this twice a week and, along with exfoliating with a facial scrub every other day, my skin is generally under control. It might be a bit much for sensitive skin, so be sure to wipe it off if it starts burning or becomes too uncomfortable. We don't actually believe that beauty is pain.
As noted before, you'll need two ingredients for this. We're going to squeeze half a lemon's juice into a small bowl (like, really small. I use my little soy sauce bowls, which are maybe 2 inches in diameter.), then pour in about 1.5 Tbsp. baking soda. It's going to fizz like a science experiment! You're basically Bill Nye the Science Guy. Just stir it with the handle of a spoon or something (we're getting fancy), and the fizz goes away.
You want to stir it until there's a pasty consistency; it'll be glossy, but feel almost like wet sand. Just use your fingers to smear a thin layer on your face, and leave on for 20 minutes. Remove with a warm, damp washcloth. Voila! Radiant skin!

I was just reading how lemon and baking soda make a great natural cleaner (for household stuff). Will try this "recipe" this week (and I will text you a pic). xo Mommi
ReplyDeleteI do a similar mask sometimes, but I use orange juice! Isn't baking soda just a miracle thing? I use it for everything!
